John Camerer

Director, Man in the Mirror

Biography

John grew up in a home where his father was not present and witnessed firsthand what happens when a man, husband, and father does not lead his family under God’s covenant. John worked 15 years in prisons and jails and has seen, first hand, what happens when men do not have a father figure or role model in their lives. Thirty years ago, John and his wife, Susan, founded Vision House, a ministry to homeless men, women, and children. The absence of a father can devastate a family and legacy.  John has been involved with men’s ministry and leading small groups for 28 years now. Over the last eight years he has led an amazing team of men in developing a ministry to men at his church, using the No Man Left Behind model from Man in the Mirror.  From a rocky childhood without a father, to being involved with discipleship of men, John knows firsthand how important it is for our churches to lead men to be followers of Christ. With his own eyes he has seen the impact it can have on the church, the family, and the community when husbands and fathers are discipled to become more godly men. John, with his years of experience leading a successful ministry to homeless families, and ministering to his church’s men, has joined the national Man in the Mirror ministry team as Area Director for Washington State.
