Replenishing our exhausted souls

By Steve Dulaney, MA, LMHC, CSAT

For 10 years, Higher Ground Men’s Conference has sought to bring inspirational and leading-edge speakers and content to breathe fresh encouragement into men’s faith journeys to win the battle for integrity. I am so looking forward to our 2022 event! But I must admit, these rising COVID case counts which have delayed return-to-office plans, increased safety protocols at indoor and outdoor events and ushered in more toxic political discourse, has made February 26 feel a long way away.  Anybody else but me needing a little ‘Higher Ground’ RIGHT NOW?

Well, that’s exactly what we’d like to provide. RIGHT NOW we’d like to recommend the September podcast series from Wild at Heart’s John Eldredge. Why? For many of us, the past 18-months has ushered in a new kind of soul fatigue. As John unpacks in this series, the impact of the isolation and deprivation of the pandemic has left our reserves depleted, our minds feeling fragmented, and our souls so hungry for replenishment.

So, let’s claim the Higher Ground together RIGHT NOW. The podcast unpacks what we can do RIGHT NOW to throw open the window to Jesus’ voice, his wisdom, the fresh air of heaven to help restore our ‘Eden Hearts.’  The Podcast can be found at Wild at Heart’s website, or on Apple Podcasts.

Take a listen. It’s FREE. It’s ENCOURAGING. It’s conveniently available on your own time. And it’s really, really good.

The 4 episode titles paint a picture of the journey Eldredge will take you on:

  1. Why Summer Wasn’t Enough
  2. Long-Term Recovery Plan (with Higher Ground 2019 Keynote Dr. Dan Allender)
  3. Guarding Against Desolation
  4. Our Eden Hearts

After listening to the September podcast series, we encourage you to pray, journal and/or discuss with a friend or in your small group about the current condition of your Eden Heart.

Higher Ground Men’s Conference is a ministry of Prodigals International. The 2022 conference will be held at Westminster Chapel in Bellevue, Washington Saturday, Feb. 26 and will be available for both in-person and virtual/live stream attendance.
